This statement explains in plain language how the money you hold or send through AYDAPAY is protected. The legally binding rules are in clause 5 of the Customer Account Agreement.

1. AYDAPAY is not a bank

AYDAPAY is entered in the register of payment service providers of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) as a small payment institution. We do not take deposits, lend money or pay interest. Your balance is not a bank deposit and is not covered by the UK Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS), the Polish Bank Guarantee Fund (BFG) or any other deposit guarantee scheme. Instead, your money is protected by safeguarding.

2. What safeguarding means

Safeguarding is a legal requirement for payment and electronic money institutions. It means:

  • Separation – customer funds are kept separate from the company's own money and are never used to run the business;
  • Designated accounts – they are held in segregated safeguarding accounts with credit institutions, or protected in another way permitted by law;
  • Reconciliation – the safeguarded amount is checked regularly against what is owed to customers;
  • Priority in insolvency – if the institution holding the funds became insolvent, safeguarded funds would be returned to customers before other creditors, less the insolvency practitioner's costs of distributing them.

3. Where your money is held
